Similar location of an early embryonic antigen on mouse and human spermatozoa.

چکیده
Antisera prepared by hyperimmunizing syngeneic 129 mice with primitive teratocarcinoma (PTC) cells have allowed the detection of a specific antigen on the surface of these cells (Artzt et al., 1973). This antigen was found to be also present on the surface of mouse spermatozoa and early embryonic cells (morulae), but not on any other differentiated cell type derived either from adult mice or teratocarcinoma (Artzt et al., 1973). This antigen appears to be determined by the wild type allele ( + t12) of a gene at the T locus of the mouse (Artzt et al., 1974). This antigen seems to have been preserved through mammalian evolution; its presence can be detected on the sperm cells of man (But-Caron et al., 1974), of bull, but not of cock. The location of the antigen on the surface of mouse and human spermatozoa was examined by means of indirect immunofluorescence technique. This paper describes this location on the postacrosomal zone of spermatozoa of both species.

I-11: Dedifferentiation of Mouse Fibroblast Cells by Chemical Induction
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) generated by ectopic expression of four transcription factors have great promises for regenerative medicine in humans. Since the initial report of iPSCs by viral transfection, ample efforts have been made in the generation of iPSCs through nonviral approaches. Small molecules offer the advantages of low cost without genomic modification and have been used ...
متن کاملCan the Decreased Expression of Human Leukocyte Antigen Class Ⅰ and Ⅱ by Spermatozoa Lead to Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion?
Background & Objective: Unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) is defined as an unknown cause of occurrence of three or more clinically detectable pregnancy losses before 20 weeks of gestation, but it occurs presumably as a result of the immune system dysfunctions. We supposed that the disruption of semen or spermatozoa might be responsible for the dysfunction of the...
متن کاملDistribution of Specific Glycoconjugates in Early Mouse Embryonic Notochord and Paraxial Mesenchyme
It is well known that glycoconjugate components of the cell surface and extracellular matrix, play an essential role(s) in many developmental phenomena such as cell differentiation, migration, and cellular interactions. The purpose of this study was to investigate distribution of this macromolecules during differentiation of the notochord and paraxial mesoderm. Formalin fixed paraffin sections ...
متن کاملEstablishment, Culture and Freezing of Human and Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells: a Protocol Guide
Studies of the biology of human embryonic stem cells (hES cells) have developed rapidly over the past nine years since the first reports of their derivation. They clearly offer enormous potential, not only for regenerative medicine, but also for drug discovery and toxicology, human developmental biology and cancer research. Realizing these potentials a better understanding of the fundamental as...
متن کاملThe role of Dby mRNA in early development of male mouse zygotes.
Ejaculated mammalian spermatozoa contain a complex yet specific population of mRNA. However, the possible roles that mRNA has in early zygotic and embryonic development remain unclear. We found that Dby mRNA is selectively retained in capacitated mouse spermatozoa, and is transferred into the oocyte during fertilization by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction even though no DBY prote...
